The new book that I have written with Nick Manton The Physical World: An Inspirational Tour of Fundamental Physics has just been published by Oxford University Press. There are more details about the book here: The Physical World: An Inspirational Tour of Fundamental Physics. OUP have designed a very appealing cover for the book.

The Physical World: An Inspirational Tour of Fundamental Physics by Nicholas Manton and Nicholas Mee
The artwork was derived from an animation that I created many years ago. It shows four spheres plus a rotating small stellated dodecahedron (on the left) and a rotating great dodecahedron (to the right) all above the Mandelbrot plane.
It is quite an appropriate image, as lots of interesting physics lies at the dynamic interface between immutable symmetry, as represented by the regular solids, and structure and chaos, as represented by the Mandelbrot set.
